Student of the Month/Bucket Filler

At PS 54, we believe in celebrating and highlighting the exceptional qualities and achievements of our students. Our Student of the Month and Bucket Filler of the Month programs aim to recognize and honor individuals who embody the values of excellence, kindness, and positive contributions to our school community.

Student of the Month:

Each month, a Student of the Month is carefully selected based on a combination of academic achievements, leadership skills, and positive character traits. Teachers, staff, and administrators collaborate to identify students who consistently go above and beyond in their academic pursuits and demonstrate outstanding behavior within and outside the classroom. The chosen student becomes a role model for their peers, showcasing the qualities that we value at PS 54.

Bucket Filler of the Month:

Our Bucket Filler of the Month program focuses on fostering a positive and supportive school culture. Inspired by the "Bucket Filling" philosophy, we recognize students who consistently engage in acts of kindness, empathy, and compassion. Students who go out of their way to make a positive impact on the lives of their classmates, teachers, and the school community as a whole are nominated for this special recognition. The Bucket Filler of the Month embodies the spirit of kindness, creating a school environment where everyone feels valued and appreciated.

Selection Process:

The selection process for both programs involves input from teachers, staff, and administrators who observe and assess students in various settings. Nominations are carefully reviewed, and candidates are chosen based on a combination of academic performance, positive behavior, leadership qualities, and acts of kindness.
