About P.S. 54

P.S. 54 is proud that diversity is alive in our school. We are a diverse community of learners. Students and adults learn from one another and celebrate the diversity of everyone in our school community.

Our 3K through Grade 5 enrollment is currently 800 students. Fifty-two percent (52%) are males and 48% of our population are females. P.S. 54 averages 120 students per grade, with our average class size at 29 students. Twenty-six percent (26%) of our population receive special education services. Sixty percent (60%) of our students come from economically disadvantaged households. One of our students live in temporary housing. Our attendance rate is 92%. The demographic breakdown is a s follows: 36% white, 37% Asian, 19% Hispanic and 7% Black. Boys and girls of many cultures make up our student body. The languages our students speak are: English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Urdu and Spanish. Each culture is respected and students learn from one another.

Dismissal Procedures

**ALL STUDENTS WILL BE DISMISSED INTO THE SCHOOLYARDS AT THE BACK OF THE SCHOOL**

K-104, K-108, K-203 – Will be dismissed from Exit 3 which is across from the Jungle Gym.  The classes will be lined up against the fence in the small schoolyard. 

 K-115, K-117, 941, Grades 1 and 2 – Will be dismissed from Exits 4 & 5.  The classes will be lined up against the fence in the small schoolyard. 

Grade 3 – Will be dismissed from Exits 4 & 5.  The classes will be lined up against the fence in the big schoolyard.

Grade 4, 5, 942 and 943 – Will be dismissed from Exit 6.  The classes will be lined up against the fence in the big schoolyard.
