Garden Club

Starting in January 2026 our K-2 English Language Learners will partake in our second season of "Garden Club".  Twice a week, students will meet after school to plan, plant, and harvest fresh grown vegetables right in our own backyard.  Our indoor activities will include learning about plants, pollination, gardening, and healthy eating.  This includes the use of our "mobile kitchen" that we received through a grant last year.  This year will be especially exiting because we were awarded other grants from NYC Grows and the Nicotra family - these grants will enable us to "fence off" our garden with live shrubs and a gate, so we can keep our students safe while they enjoy the garden learning experience along with us. The Garden Club and I are looking forward to a special Earth Day Celebration to share our garden renovation with our P.S. 54 students and families.  We will be looking for Ladybug families that would like to volunteer in our garden, as well as enjoy its harvest!  More details are to follow.
